Facility Inspections
for compliance with the building codes and the ADA.
Washington -- Oregon
Our full-service Accessibility Surveys identify non-complying issues and offer recommended solutions and - if desired - possible materials and contractors. We meet with your contractors to explain the codes and follow up to audit the work for compliance. Our final report will include photographs and comments on the final work.
We survey a site starting with parking to a complete survey of accessibility features. We use our "inspection by exception" outline and take photos with the help of the client representative. The ADA Build it Right team will conduct the survey with client representatives to maximize the educational experience. One of our team members will be a disabled person - usually with a wheel chair. We demonstrate use of accessibility elements available or needed. At the end of the physical survey we will present our preliminary findings, discuss solutions, and answer questions about the ADA and building code requirements. We will deliver a report of any probelms found and include the code reference and suggested changes. This report will be suitable for addition to your ADA Transition Plan document (state and local governments).
Our primary code reference is the International building Code
2003 (Chapter 11 Disibility section) and ICC/ANSI A117.1 2003 and the ADAAG. We
also reference the Oregon and Washington amendments to the International Building
Code 2003.
